What is SculpSure®?
SculpSure is a non-invasive, nonsurgical technique that uses laser technology to eliminate unwanted pockets of fat. Approved by the FDA, the treatment can be applied to your belly, back, thighs, and under your chin. According to research, SculpSure can eliminate up to 24% of unwanted fat cells.
Why do I still have fat cells even though I diet and exercise?
The reason is that the number of fat cells stored in your body usually remains constant throughout your life. Dieting and exercise may reduce the size of the fat cells, but they don’t eliminate them. That’s where SculpSure comes in. The treatment can permanently get rid of unwanted fat cells, especially in your problem areas.
What can I expect during a SculpSure session?
Your session begins with an assessment of the area you want treated. A North Star Medical technician first determines how many applicators you need and then straps them into place.
Using a handheld laser, he or she begins the process with cooling, followed by an interval of heat. Typically, 10 seconds of cooling is followed by 20 seconds of heat. The first four minutes, called the buildup phase, gradually heat the targeted fat tissue. Minutes five through 25, the sustained phase, continue with intervals of cooling and heat.
During the treatment, you may experience feelings of deep warmth followed by a tingling sensation. Most patients tolerate the treatments very well.
Is there a recovery time following a SculpSure session?
No, typically there is no downtime following treatment. You can resume your normal activities right away.
When can I expect to see results?
Most patients begin to see a reduction in fat within six weeks, with full results evident in about 12 weeks. Most patients benefit from a series of treatments for the best outcomes. The good news, however, is that once the fat cells are gone, they won’t come back.
